Wet-Site Garden

Scroll

The client had a difficult site on the edge of a wetland with heavy, saturated soil. We embraced the site conditions, planting native wetland perennials, shrubs, and trees. Then in select sunny areas we built raised beds, mounds, and trellises for traditional mixed borders, fruit trees, and climbing roses. Finally PWG installed a bluestone path through the garden so the client could stroll through the plantings without sinking into the mud.
